This week is a re-process of NGC 2359, Thor’s Helmet. Since it has been cloudy for the past couple weeks, I sorted over some old data and tried some new processing techniques. The original was posted on April 1st so you can go back and compare. This is still just under an hours’ worth of data and will be one of my main targets when March rolls around. Want to capture at least 6 hours of data in order to really bring out the detail. Thor’s Helmet is an emission nebula about 15,000 light years away. It is 30 light years wide and was formed by stellar winds coming off the very big star in the center of the image.
