This reprocessed photo of Messier 1, the Crab Nebula, is from last October taken with the C6 telescope. At just over an hour of integration time the object appears mostly red due to not capturing enough Oiii signal. This fall I will add another 6 hours to this data to really show the detail in this supernova remnant. M1 was one of the first supernova to ever be recorded when both Arab and Chinese astronomers noted it in 1054 as it shone bright enough to be seen during the day. It is located in the constellation of Taurus, is 6,523 light years away and shines at a magnitude of 8.1.
