Caldwell 27, the Crescent Nebula, was formed by the Wolf-Rayet star, WR136, when it shred its outer layers and created this web of luminous material around 250,000 years ago. It sits in a cloud of ionized Hydrogen in the constellation of Cygnus 4,700 light years away. Emma joined me Wednesday night as we gathered 3 hours of data on this dinosaur egg looking nebula. Taken with the Askar FRA400 with an H-Alpha 656 nm narrowband filter.
