Wanted to show what difference a couple of years can make in this hobby. This is Caldwell 47, the Rosette Nebula. The ‘red’ photo was taken in 2021 and is a 1-hour broadband integration. I was just starting out, and while it is a cool picture you can see from the other photo taken early in 2023 the noticeable difference. It is a 3-hour integration using an Hα and Oiii narrowband filter, which only lets certain wavelengths of light hit the camera. The longer integration combined with better processing techniques shows a huge improvement. This really shows the progress over the months. I will be showing some other examples as well and hopefully the results will continue to advance.
