Answers to your most pressing questions

What are some of the names the Cron family is related to back in Ohio and Pennsylvania?

Waymire and Thompson are the most prominant. Also included in the family tree are: Hole, Coate, Wolf, Speelman, Jones, Baker, Tucker, Weaver, Redinbaugh, Kaylor, Sharp, Copeland and Coppock.

What are some of the names the Softich family is related to back in Croatia?

Saftic and Tus are the main ones. There are also the following names in the family tree:  Stepic, Kalafatic, Kombol, Blazecevic, Kovacic, Spoja, Mureta, Ligatic, Tonkovic, Antonic, Krsul, Kralic and Plovanic.

I also have relatives who are from Bribir, could they be related to you?

Chances are if you go back far enough. We have researched the area back to about 1750 and might be able to share some info with you. There were about 40 families who immigrated to Anaconda who all came from Bribir and the surrounding area. It is pretty fascinating.

My parents knew some Softichs or Crons, how do it get in touch with their kids?

Just go to the Contact Us page and let us know and we should be able to piont you in the right direction.

I'm interested in having my own page on the site, is that possible?

Of course. Just contact us and let us know what you have in mind. We will try to make it as in depth as you would like, from just sharing some photos to a full on stand alone blog if you are up to it. It depends on your level of computer skill, but basically if you can use Word you will be OK. And of course it is free.

Is it true we are related to President Herbert Hoover on the Cron side?

Yes. The 31st President was 3rd cousins with Isaac Walter Thompson. That made him 4th cousins to our Grandmother Pauline Cron. Go to the Family Page for a Cousin Calculator to see how you may be related. Or email us and we will figure it out for you.

I would like to have a copy of a photo, what do I do?

If you have permission to do so, right clicking and choosing "Save As" should do the trick. If not, just contact us and we will email it to you.

If I'm already registered, how do I change my information?

Just go to your Profile and click on your picture, then click on Manage Profile. This will allow you to put more specific info down or change incorrect information.

Why Anaconda?

Most of the relatives who came here from Bribir were too intelligent to settle in Butte. Just kidding. I lived in Butte and it is a great city. The reason was probably there were more jobs "above ground" in Anaconda. There were a lot of families from Bribir who lived in Butte however.

I have a family member who wan't invited by the host to join. How can they get on the site?

Anyone can Register from the Welcome page. We will verify the person and give them User Permissions.

I see a lot of references to the Saftic name? How does that fit?

Our surname in Croatian is pronounced "saft-ich" but was spelled in the 1800's with an "a" and ended with a "c". When the first wave of immigrants came to America this was written down as it sounded and over the years became Softich.

Like a lot of people out there, I was wondering when Mike's birthday was?

There is a rumor it is June 11th.

I am not sure if I am actually related to anyone on this page.

One way to find out is to leave a message on the Contact Us page with who your Grandparents were and where you think they were from. We will research them and see if you are related.

I would like to send a private message to another member on the site.

Find their Profile on the Member Page and click on the envelope icon. This will send them a message only they will receive.

I have a suggestion or some info to share, who do I contact?

Go to the Contact Us page and leave a message. If you have a photo to share you can email it to "host at softich dot com".

I have found something which I don't think is accurate.

By all means please let us know. Leave a comment on the Contact Us page.
